Yopa has appointed a Commercial Director as the company goes from strength to strength and the public continues to embrace alternatives to the traditional estate agency model.

Peter Everett joins Yopa next week following a year at Irish proptech provider Offr, where he consulted on their UK launch.

Everett has almost 40 years of experience in estate agency, including 25 years with LSL and a decade at Hamptons.

Joining LSL in 1982, Everett moved to the Head Office in York in 1999 in a strategic marketing capacity, helping to transform GA Property Services into the Your Move brand we know today.

He then went on to head up Your Move’s franchise operation.

At Hamptons from 2010 to 2020, Everett was Head of Sales, covering 50 offices outside of London.

His key achievements included managing two acquisitions, the establishment of the New Homes business and a new conveyancing brand.

He also acted as Business Development Director at Hamptons over 2007 and 2008.

At Yopa, Everett’s role will involve overseeing sales operations – including recruitment and sales field expansion – while influencing Yopa’s future proposition as the company targets further growth.

Peter Everett, Yopa’s new Commercial Director:

“I’m very excited to join Yopa at this stage in their evolution, and hope that my diverse industry experience can help to further substantially grow the business.”

“I’m a huge believer that technology can be a force for good in the estate agency industry and this, combined with continued high levels of personalised customer service, will enable Yopa to further cement itself as one of the most trusted and recognised brands for UK home movers.”

Freddie Cornes, Managing Director at Yopa:

“We’re thrilled to have Peter on board.”

“He has a wealth of estate agency experience that will be fundamental to building on the success we have achieved to date, particularly the significant progress over the past 12-18 months.”

“Yopa has continued its dramatic growth since reaching profit six months ahead of schedule last year, with revenues up over 80% YoY in the first quarter of 2021, and up 110% year to date.”

“We are continuing to invest in areas of opportunity and growth, so it’s a really exciting time to have Peter joining the team.”

Year to date, Yopa’s new listings have jumped 25% vs 2019 and 40% vs 2020, outperforming the industry decline in listings, resulting in market share of listings increasing to record levels and Yopa becoming the 5th largest estate agency brand in the UK.

This has contributed to a significant increase in revenues for Yopa franchisees.

Average revenue per instruction is up 50% and agent revenues have increased by 71% YoY.

A full-service agency with over 150 local agents, Yopa’s offering also includes virtual valuations and viewings, contact-free mortgage appointments and fair, fixed fees helping customers save thousands of pounds.

These features have proved more important than ever at a time when the nation has needed smart, accessible and affordable solutions to homemoving.

Buyer demand and sales have hit record levels, with sales outstripping new listings, demonstrating the value Yopa’s proposition can bring to customers.

Yopa’s mortgage division Scout Financial Services has also recorded strong growth, with a 350% increase in mortgages written and revenues in the first half of 2021 vs the same period in 2020. The division continues to grow, with a further 10 brokers joining the business since May and recruitment ongoing in order to meet high customer demand.
