Thousands of UK landlords, property professionals, and investors gathered at the iconic Old Billingsgate venue in London for the National Landlord Investment Show Summer Spectacular on Wednesday 9th July for another landmark event reflecting the sector’s engagement for education, knowledge and insights during a time of change for the UK Property Sector.

With 100+ exhibitors, 5+ panel debates and 50+ seminars, the show proved to be another triumphant success, offering an essential knowledge boost for the UK’s Private Rental Sector (PRS). Organisers had promised the most dynamic edition of the show to date, and it didn’t disappoint. From the moment the doors opened at 8:30 am to the closing of the event at 5:00 pm, the atmosphere was electric, described by one exhibitor as “lively, energetic, and intellectually charged.”

But the day didn’t end there. The show concluded with an exclusive evening property cruise along the River Thames, attended by a curated guest list of organisers, exhibitors, and key landlord delegates who secured tickets through a prize draw, offering continued networking in a relaxed, laid-back setting and a positive way to celebrate the success of the show.

A Packed Agenda of Education

The show opened with a high-impact panel discussion on the much-anticipated Renters’ Rights Bill, hosted by TalkTV’s Ian Collins and featuring expert speakers including David Smith, Economics Editor of The Sunday Times, and Eddie Hughes, former Housing Minister. The auditorium was packed, a testament to the urgent relevance of the topic as the Renters’ Rights Bill goes through its final review in the House of Lords ahead of summer recess. The momentum continued throughout the day with key expert panels tackling forward-looking themes such as AI & PropTech, Rent for Good, and Making Tax Digital in the main auditorium hall.

Discussions weren’t limited to the main auditorium as attendees were spoilt for choice for education. The Education Hub in the exhibition hall provided additional panel talks on property development, while five seminar rooms ran simultaneous sessions on everything from tax, insurance, and investment strategies, offering something for every kind of landlord or investor at every stage of the property investment journey.

Voices From the Show

From both an exhibitor and attendee standpoint, the day was a clear success, marking a renewed sense of optimism and empowerment to prepare for upcoming changes to the UK Private Rental Sector.

Speaking to Ash, a self-managing landlord from London, she described the show as “informative” and “highly energetic.”

“Having attended the show in the past, I knew what to expect, but I came this time more focused on the panel discussions and was impressed by the range of topics covered,” she said.

On the upcoming Renters’ Rights Bill, Ash shared her feelings of cautious confidence:

“I’m feeling pretty prepared ahead of the changes, yet maybe a little apprehensive and cautious, but I do feel like I’ve got all my ducks in a row. Events like this one are a great way to stay up to date. The ‘Rent for Good’ panel was particularly useful. It reminded me that, as a landlord, I can leverage social housing to make a real difference, and it’s good to know what options are available to me as a provider of homes.”

Roberto and Ben, from Pauzible, one of the show’s exhibitors, added that although people are acting with cautious confidence, the innovation within he sector is key and seeing the range of innovative products on the market at the National Landlord Investment Show is testament to the resilience and adaptability of the industry/.

Meanwhile, Khizar from Nester, another one of the event’s exhibitors, described the show as “fun, lively, and intellectually charged.”

“The breadth of topics and diversity of opinions made for really meaningful discussions. It was a great display of how resilient and stable the UK property market remains, regardless of political changes and whatever government reform is ahead.”

A final comment was shared by Sebastian and Lee from Howden Insurance, another one of the event’s exhibitors, expressed a similar wave of optimism and suggested that overall “optimism remains and that events like the National Landlord Investment Show is a great way to see that people working within the UK Property sector are cautious, self-aware and taking control of their businesses through education amind times of change”
